A family member ships off to Iraq...
Today was a hard day... for everyone in my family. I'm not going to go into specific detail but one of my family members shipped off to Iraq today. As much as the President says that he hasn't made up his mind in terms of invading Iraq and that the decision rest with Saddam and his disarming of WMD (BTW, inspectors couldn't find any since being in country since last September), I know we're going to war... and so does my family.
My family member who shipped out is a great middle rank soldier going on his third tour in as many countries. After 9/11 and being out of the service for a few years, he didn't think twice about signing up again and doing what he was trained to do. And if all of the intelligence turns out to be correct and Saddam does have a WMD program that needs disarming, great... but I just don't trust the Neocons at the wheel. And for a family member of mine to be at their service worries me greatly. Anyway, I'll report back on his service and the feeling on the ground when I know more but rest assured that I'm going to keep this administration honest when it comes to our soldiers and their mission... I have skin in the game... literally.
