"Stuff Happens"... D. Rumsfeld on Iraq looting...
Before we invaded Iraq in 1991, we knew that looting could be a problem and that we would need enough troops to account for such.
Flashforward to 2003, another Iraq invasion and Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld's response to Iraq looting under our nose? "Stuff happens." This is the first concrete example of what happens when you pre-emptively invade a country without enough boots on the ground. Instead of acknowledging his mistake to go in "lite and fast" without the extra 100,000 or so extra troops on the ground needed to keep the peace, his excuse?... Stuff happens. Don't bet on any reflection by Mr. Remsfeld anytime soon... I know I'm not.
