It's not about high taxes or low taxes...

...it's about the right amount of taxes that befits the day.

Given that we are driving our deficit up by millions of dollars per day, it would make sense to raise taxes to bring this under control. When we get our financial house in order, then we can lower taxes.  I have a very strong Libertarian bent but I'm not a strict Libertarian that believes taxes should be zero.  I look at taxes as passing go and being part of the greatest society on Earth... it's as if paying your taxes is the first part of being philanthropic and giving back as an American... cost of doing business.  And the more taxes your pay as an American, the more money you're making in our free market.

So instead of having the debate being zero taxes vs. high taxes, the debate should be about, what is the right amount of taxes for the situation we are in right now.  This administration has asked for no sacrifice from the American people... we are paying for this war with supplemental spending ($ not on the books) and they are still striving for tax cuts.

Let's have the real debate... what is the right amount of taxes?
