Wedge issues...
Gay Marriage.
Global Warming.
Stem Cell Research.
Abortion.
Evolution vs. Creationism.
Abstinence only education.
Rove and company have been brilliant at making the debate about those issues instead of kids dying in Iraq in a war that anyone with any sense of un-biased opinion can see we're in trouble. I'd be much happier hearing out of Bush's mouth that he's going to add more troops... LISTEN TO JOHN MCCAIN, Mr. President! But if he even thinks about that, Rove'll be in his ear chirping about how that would be disaster. After the '04 election, a time when a tactical decision like adding more troops would be feasible, Rove will be back again talking about the '06 election and how adding more troops would be disaster. Same song different year. If Kerry isn't elected, and granted, he's a zero personality wise, we're going to be at war in Iraq till at least January 2009.
When it comes to most wedge issues like the ones above, I side with the Libertarians who want to stay out of other people's business by respecting the separation of church and state.
