My problem with the debate about abortion...
My problem with the debate about abortion is that we're forgetting another debate that should preceed it. Namely, that we have over ten million children living in this country without health insurance! How can we force a waitress working in Iowa to have her child but then after it's born, make her pay for the health insurance (which she doesn't have herself) to keep that child safe and healthy? I don't believe that we should have the debate about abortion until ALL of the uninsured children in America have health insurance.
But why is the abortion debate the one everyone focuses on?... oh yeah, it's a wedge issue that scores points.
