Terri Schiavo... used as a political tool.
I am incensed and outraged at how Terri Schiavo has been used as a political football in the last month of her life. Politicians have no right to walk through my front door and tell me how my wife or myself will be treated if, God forbid, either of us ends up in such a state as Ms. Schiavo.
I do sympathize with the parents that want her to live and I also sympathize with her husband who knows she wouldn't want to go on like this but it was up to the courts, over the last ten years to decide this issue before them, not the congress to come riding in on Palm Sunday to save the day and, as we've come to find out, try and exploit her life and death as a political issue.
Government should use the most velvet and private of gloves when dealing with family issues but as we can see from this episode by the Republican controlled congress, they would still rather carry that big 'ol stick.
