The selling of the Iraq war SCOREBOARD!

The AP is reporting on the a new study that just came out detailing the amount of deception used by Bush 2.0 to sell the Iraq war... you can count me as being very skeptical at the time.

On to the scoreboard: "The study counted 935 false statements in the two-year period. It found that in speeches, briefings, interviews and other venues, Bush and administration officials stated unequivocally on at least 532 occasions that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction or was trying to produce or obtain them or had links to al-Qaida or both."

And then there's this quote from Charles Lewis and Mark Reading-Smith: "In short, the Bush administration led the nation to war on the basis of erroneous information that it methodically propagated and that culminated in military action against Iraq on March 19, 2003."

I know we all could have said something like this yesterday but having two nonprofit journalism studies saying so makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.  Now spin it, Bush 2.0...

How many false statements were made by Democrates to justify voting for the war in the first place? Are they just stupid? If GW lied were they just too stupid to see thru it? The XXXXX dems have a fair chance at winning next. XXX XXXX XXXXX XX XXXX XX XXXXXX XXXX XXX XXXX? I'm thinking we are in a bit of trouble, but what the hay!

Another point I'd like to make about the above study counting 935 times that Bush 2.0 lied about Iraq is that for every one of those times, the media acts as an echo chamber that exponentially increases that number beyond 935 every time the remark is debated or mentioned on the news, news shows or on a blog & the Internet.  President Bush only said, "...in the form of a mushroom cloud." once but that has been replayed and burned into our minds thousands of times by the media.  A genius political strategy if you ask me.
