So much for that first step of political progress in Iraq
It seems that getting Iraq's Presidency Council to agree with the U.S. and al-Maliki's agreement to let Baath party members back into their government jobs has hit a big snag.
Maybe Bush 2.0 and the Republican presidential candidates should wait until the deal is "sign, sealed and delivered" before trumpeting such progress. Now I've got that song my head...
UPDATE: The law has passed but without the signing off by the Sunni representative. Partial victory for Bush 2.0... 1 out of 18 benchmarks met since the surge began. Didn't they tell us that would take six months from Jan. '07?
