The next BIG war...

...might be about water.  I keep thinking about the problems Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee have over the drought and the dried up river that feeds the three state and the fight it's stirred up between them.  I can't stop thinking how much that sucks.

So instead of letting my mind wander on how scarce water could become from a global perspective (our South Eastern section times 100), I like to think about what we need to do to change the outcome.  Some of my most heated debates with family and friends on the right are about our environment and how it actually IS a matter of national security and that we change the trend lines of our environment that have been tracked for the last fifty years.  They poo poo the research and scientific numbers being thrown at them and I shake my head in disbelief that they don't see how we're headed for trouble, big trouble.

If McCain gets the nomination, at least the next President will give the issue the honesty and attention it deserves.
