Five years ago today...
It's hard for me to believe that five years ago today I posted a letter to Secretary Powell on my blog about his speech to the U.N. laying out the U.S. case for war against Iraq. Some may not believe this, but I wish that he was right and that I was wrong in my predictions because I believe that I'm more capable of knowing when I'm wrong and admitting a mistake than anyone inside Bush 2.0.
From this reporting by the AP today, it seems like we should have known better... or that the war was pushed from inside the White House to carry out the Neocon's plan for Middle Eastern democracy at the point of a gun and they didn't care what Saddam's scientists had to say (more likely)... either way, it was a very bad idea.
