It's sad for me to watch the "Straight Talk Express"...

...lose its direction. Senator McCain opposed Bush 2.0's tax cuts because he felt that:
1. The tax cuts shouldn't benefit the top 2% of earners at the expense of everyone else.
and
2. That, never before, had we ever cut taxes and started a war at the same time.
Now Senator McCain is all for more tax cuts when our financial situation is more dire than ever before and we're neck deep in a war that's paid for "off the books"... so, how can you square the two? Easy, it's politics... he has to pander to the far right and this is one example of how he's doing so.
Example #2 is that yesterday, Senator McCain voted against a bill that would have made the CIA follow the Army manual's interrogation techniques. The techniques that he fought with Bush 2.0 about a year and a half ago to enact... but today? He votes against it. Again, politics is the reason... more pandering to the far right to shore up his base.
Having been a HUGE fan and proponent of Senator McCain over the years, it's hard to sit hear and watch the "Straight Talk Express" make a U-turn based on politics.
