Just read an Op-Ed by Secretaries Rice and Gates...

...asking for the Congress to trust them when it comes to negotiating a "status of forces" agreement between Iraq and the U.S. from yesterday's Washington Post.  The problem I find with this Op-ed is that whenever the press has asked about permanent bases in Iraq, Bush 2.0 on the one hand says, "No, we're not putting permanent bases in Iraq" but then with the other he signs a signing statement attached to a bill that bars permanent bases that gives him the option if he wants to.  It's insulting that the Op-ed is written like none of that has ever happened.  Oh no, not them.  But those of us up to speed know better.

Bush 2.0's interpretation of the Theory of Unitary Executive gives them all the options they want when it comes to lying to the America people.  They're the ones always holding their crossed fingers behind their backs when they tell us anything.  Why should we start believing them now?
