A Purple candidate decides NOT to enter the race...

Michael Bloomberg has decided NOT to enter the race.  Bloomberg has written a good article showing his true PURPLE stripes while recognizing the difficult challanges we face as a country.  He says that he's going to help get the candidate elected that escrews special interests and ideology for sound solutions to the problems confronting the next President.  Given that it's looking more and more likely that it's going to be McCain vs. Obama (we'll have a better idea on Wednesday, 3/5), he's going to have two VERY different Purple candidates to choose from.  The issue that I'm most curious to hear Mr. Bloomberg's viewpoint on is Iraq and the "war on terror".  Neither are mentioned once in his article... so Mayor Bloomberg, where do you stand on the war?  That is one issue where ideology and political battle lines might not be so easy to overcome.
