...that Saddam had operational connections with Al Qaida prior to 9/11 to bed? A Pentagon sponsored study about to be released that looked at documents gathered after we invaded Iraq show that there was NO connection between Iraq and Al Qaida prior to 2004. Al Qaida only rose up and developed in Iraq A YEAR AFTER we invaded the country. To be fair, the study does show that Saddam was interested in using terrorist groups to his advantage in the Middle East but those groups were not Al Qaida (those responsible for 9/11) and those actions didn't constitute a direct threat to our national security.
UPDATE: Now Bush 2.0 is trying to "stall" the release of the report by offering no briefing by the authors and by having it sent via mail on a CD to "anyone who wants a copy" thinking that will stop it from getting online to be viewed by pesky reporters. Par for the course...
