Al Qaeda attempts attack on U.S. Embassy in Yemen

CNN is reporting that Al Qaeda attempted an attack on the U.S. Embassy in Yemen.  The mortar attack missed the embassy, landing near a school where one security guard was killed an 13 students were injured.

This is our REAL "war on terror"!  I would argue and bet that the Al Qaeda population in Iraq is less than 5% of their total population around the world.  While we are bogged down keeping Iraq from coming apart at the seems, Al Qaeda is free to conduct attacks like this one in Yemen with no recourse or action taken by the United States.  The fact that Al Qaeda didn't even enter Iraq until 2004, almost a year after we invaded the country and is what Bush 2.0 clings to as a reason to keep us in that country, only weakens our ability to fight them in over 60 countries around the world where Al Qaeda has safe havens.  If you think about the $12 Billion a month we are spending in Iraq and contrast that with such attacks that happened in Yemen, don't you think we could be spending our treasure more wisely to fight this stateless enemy?
