It's a sad day...

Today is a sad day seeing that we've crossed the 4000th soldier death in Iraq... that's not to say that the 3,999 or the 4,001 or the 3,767th death is any different but crossing the 4000th threshold does help to put this war into perspective.

In THIS AP story, they mention that 97% of all deaths in Iraq occurred after Bush 2.0 declared "mission accomplished" on the deck of the Abraham Lincoln... that figure takes my breath away.

Lastly, I don't want to diminish any of the hardship that the injured soldiers (both physically and mentally) have gone through with this war either... their injuries, and I know from personal experience, will be with us for many, many years to come.
