Obama and the Theory of Unitary Executive
As regular readers of my blog here know, I am very concerned with how the Theory of Unitary Executive has been used and abused by Bush 2.0 as a justification for any one of their potentially (I say "potentially" because we still don't have all of the information to make an informed judgment) illegal policies.
In a recent interview, Obama walked a fine line between looking into Bush 2.0's past policies to determine if they are just bad policies that shouldn't be copied or were they policies implemented by administration officials who knowingly broke the law. Senator Clinton has said that she too would examine the record of Bush 2.0 to see if any laws were broken. Do you think Senator McCain would do the same?... not on your life. And even though I respect Senator McCain and even though he IS a PURPLE candidate, this, in addition to his position on the war in Iraq, is why I won't vote for him... and this from someone who worked tirelessly to get Senator McCain the nomination in 2000.
