More developments in Iraq
Two developments in Iraq that I wanted to mention...
1. It seems that another company of Iraqi troops have abandoned their post in Sadr City. If what we're looking for out of the Iraq troops if for them to stand up and take the fight on, this is another instance that goes against that goal and isn't a good sign.
2. The U.S. has decided to build a new cement wall between portions of Sadr City so they can focus on rebuilding that section of the city. The last time that they tried to put walls up between sections of Baghdad, there was an up-tick of violence. I haven't fully figured out how I feel about such a move but my gut tells me that the physical separation of neighborhoods won't help endear the Iraqi people to our U.S. soldiers.
