Don't listen to Al Qaeda's declarations!
The number 2 in Al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri, has released a new audio tape where he says that if we pull out of Iraq, Al Qaeda has won or if we stay in Iraq we will not witness anything but failure and defeat.
Obviously, the number 2 in Al Qaeda is presenting to us with HIS view on where we stand in the war on terror. While he's holed up in the tribal region of Pakistan, of course he doesn't want us to pull out of Iraq because we would then turn our focus and military towards that tribal region. It seems with this new audio recording as if he's daring Bush 2.0 to use his words as a justification for staying in Iraq... and I wouldn't be surprised if Bush 2.0 (or McCain) did just that. Something for you to keep in mind should any of our politicians use Ayman al-Zawahiri's words as a justification for staying in Iraq is that just because al-Zawahiri says we are defeated or will be defeated, doesn't make it so. Al Qaeda gets to set the objectives of our actions ONLY IF WE LET HIM... and from how the Republicans and Bush 2.0 have justified this war from the start, they'd only be so happy to follow along with Al Qaeda's script as a reason to stay bogged down in Iraq.
