Link Fest
So many articles and news jumped out at me today that I've decided to put three separate links in this post and follow up later in the day about sex ed vs. abstinence only education... so here goes:
The WashPost and Rawstory both break down a new batch of records from the CIA about the use of torture and renditions used by the CIA. Notable news is that the CIA knew it was in legal trouble and repeatedly asked the White House office of Legal Council for legal advice regarding torture and renditions given that they knew litigation regarding these actions was "virtually inevitable". In addition to the White House claiming "executive communications privilege" and won't release 19 of the documents... hmmm, hasn't Bush 2.0 said that we don't torture or farm out torture? I guess they were closer to those decisions than we were led to believe and not surprising, the reporting is starting to come out stating so.
Now on to lighter topics...
It seems that top lawmakers in Congress have dedicated staffers to deal with the blogosphere and their "reporting"... After watching what happened to Senator Lieberman and Senator Allen, I guess they figured they couldn't ignore the blogs anymore... welcome to the party folks.
And then this...
The NYTimes debunks the Clinton myth that since Obama hasn't won any of the "big" states that he can't win them in the general election and thus we have the crux of their "electability" argument. What the Times rightfully points out is that it is not plausible to compare primary elections with general elections and since Team Clinton didn't have a plan after Super Tuesday, they need to keep changing the goal posts, the rules of the game and the perception that if Obama can't win PA in the primary, he WON"T win it in the general... hogwash. I wish more of the main stream media would call them out on it.
