18 Veteran suicides per day
Regular readers will know that PTSD hits very close to home for me but the numbers listed in this Reuters article really put it into perspective; 18 veteran suicides per day, veterans are 3-7.5 time more likely to commit suicide than civilians, between October of last year and March 31st 1,467 veterans have committed suicide while their medical claims are under appeal. These numbers are unacceptable and this is a clear by-product of jumping into a war without an end game plan or the resources needed to take care of these veterans coming home because Bush 2.0 fooled themselves into believe this was going to be an easy fight.
