About last night...

So yeah, Obama got whupped by Clinton last night by a margin of 2 to 1 in West Virginia.  Josh Marshall over at Talkingpointsmemo.com has a theory that's a wee bit different than the "Obama can't win working class white people" that has to do with the Appalachia region of our country... it's worth the read if you're interested and very insightful given the circumstances... with colorful pictures and all.  The Obama campaign would do good to come up with a specific strategy that takes into account Mr. Marshall's theory.

But the real story coming out of last night is that a Democrat took a Republican seat in Mississippi by 8 points in a region of the state that Bush won with more than 60% of the vote against Kerry back in '04.  Needless to say, that has the Repubs scared sh*tless and I would be too if I were still playin' on their team.  Chairman of the National Congressional Republican Committee, Rep. Tom Cole, knows as much as evidenced by a letter he sent out last night after the Dem victory... you can read excerpts of that letter HERE.
