Are we there yet?
When I was a little girl and whenever we were traveling as a family to wherever, I would always be the one to ask, "Are we there yet?" It became a running joke to the point where I still get picked on about asking such a question to this day.
That being said, the past few months of this primary have felt like one of those long family trips when it felt like we would never get there. It never used to feel like this with all of the other primaries that I've lived through but since being caught up in the Obama mania and wanting to see two Purple candidates face off in the upcoming general election, I have always felt that Senator Clinton would find a way to pull it off and snatch the nomination from Obama. That doesn't seem to be the case today as the AP is reporting that Clinton will acknowledge Obama as the nominee tonight. I won't believe till we hear those words come out of her mouth but I have to ask... Are we there yet?
UPDATE: We might not be there yet... Terry McAuliffe is quoted as saying that the AP story is "100% reporting incorrectly".
UPDATE II: The AP is reporting that Obama has effectively clinched the nomination by their tally of the delegate count. Take that, Terry!
UPDATE III: I think we're there... Barack Obama, 6/3/08: "...I will be the Democratic nominee for President of the United States."

No way! He would never let her on the ticket.
Murtha all the way.

The breaking news is that she's dropping hints that she's willing to go the VP route... but I hope not. My preference is for Chuck Hagel... I know he's a Republican but he's a war hero who's been against Iraq for a long time now and it would make the ticket that much more PURPLE.
