"A few bad apples..."
If you remember when the Abu-Ghraib prison abuse scandal broke, you'll remember Sec. of Defense Rummy and Bush 2.0 himself casting the blame on "a few bad apples" within the ranks who got carried away with their interrogation tactics... well, come to find out through a probe conducted by the Senate that such talk was just a bunch of bull. The Pentagon was coming up those techniques years before that scandal broke. That excuse got them out of a bind right before the '04 election but at least now we know the truth.
I'll say this again, being a true and free democracy is HARD. It's not easy and there are no short cuts... torture is a short cut that we should never stand for and hopefully our next President will roll back this and all the other policies (warrantless wiretapping, politicization of the Justice Dept., lying to the American people when selling a war, etc.) that Bush 2.0 has pushed for the past 8 years.
