I get the feeling that Bush 2.0 is starting to feel left out
It's being reported that Bush 2.0 is following McCain's lead and calling for the ban on oil drilling off of the U.S. coasts to be lifted. I guess he feels the need to jump on McCain's bandwagon. This is a classic political tactic to create the appearance that you're doing something about the sky high gas prices when in realty, even if the ban on off shore drilling is lifted, it would be at least 5 plus years before any of that oil gets to market... and probably more given that it would have to work its way through a Democratic Congress. Back in the day, we loved to play these kind of games to sway the opinion of the public who doesn't pay much attention to politics but hears the President and the Republican nominee yelling, "lift the ban on oil drilling". Not to mention the added benefit of throwing the oil companies a bone...
