The "Purple" way forward

Joe Klein of Time reports today on a conversation he had with Obama about forming a "Team of Rivals" (Doris Kearns Goodwin's title of her book about President Lincoln and his cabinet) and surrounding himself with Republican and Democrats alike who disagree with him and will take him "out of his comfort zone" on the issues. This is the same sort of thinking that makes me push Chuck Hagel as a viable Vice President pick. This is the "Purple" way forward compared to the past eight years of highly partisan fighting that Bush 2.0 has served up and I'm all for it... obviously.
