David Addington and his Theory of Unitary Executive
During today's hearing on torture with John Woo and David Addington in the hot seats, Addington has the gall to say that he doesn't know what the Theory of the Unitary Executive is... see video below (hat tip to TPM TV). The problem with this statement is that Addington has been using that exact theory, or interpretation of the constitution if you will, to torture, hide/destroy emails, warrentlessly wiretap American citizens, and every other un-constitutional act Bush 2.0 and Darth Cheney have taken in the name of the war on terror as the legal defense for committing such acts.
This man, David Addington, is dispicable. He's being too cute by half and anyone who is concerned with protecting our constitutional rights should be counting the minutes until he and his cronies are out of office. As long time readers know, I am very concerned with how the Theory of Unitary Executive has been interpreted by these numb skulls to justify all of their ILLEGAL ACTS.
