Should McCain joke about his mother's speeding?
The Washington Post ran with a piece yesterday about Roberta McCain's (John's 96-year-old mother) speeding tickets. The piece goes on to say how Senator McCain jokes on the trail about the time that his mom got stopped for going 112mph in Arizona. My instincts tell me that the McCain campaign planted this story and got a chuckle when it came out yesterday but if you take a breath and imagine, god for bid, that she actually hurt someone while speeding? That's one news cycle that the McCain campaign would do best to avoid. Now, I have met Mrs. McCain and she is the spitfire that you would expect and I hope she lives another 96 years... and THAT'S the part of the story that the McCain campaign should be focusing on... that she's still driving at 96, not that she's speeding.
Anyway, why don't you put Roberta behind the wheel of the Straight Talk Express (video tour below)... you could double your campaigning...
