David Plouffe video blogs Obama's strategy

Again, as the video below shows, the Obama campaign is using the Internet in new and un-expected ways to communicate with their donors and volunteers.  David Plouffe, Obama's rarely seen campaign manager, recorded this video blog with PowerPoint slides to be sent out to Obama's email list of supporters with a call for more donations.  The video is unique in a number of different ways... first off, it gives Obama's supporters a first hand look at Obama's elusive campaign manager; in it Plouffe continues to thank and show Obama's network how they are making a difference; Plouffe explains WHY it's so important to donate and volunteer based on numbers from McCain's own PowerPoint slide shwoing the RNC's current advantage over the DNC by $50 million; he also shows how competing even in states where we know McCain is going to win is an effort to help down ballot Democrats and expand the ranks of Democrats in those states.  Now, this is supposed to explain Obama's strategy, and it does to some extent, but it doesn't give away the store and let his supporters and detractors alike know exactly what their thinking is.  Nevertheless, this is a great way to let the supports inside the ropes, thank them, get more money out of their pockets and more time on their calendars devoted to the campaign.

As Steve Benen blogs over at Huffpost, Rove and the Repubs are trying to throw every label they can think of at Obama and nothing is sticking.  Maybe that's because everyone is watching the unique and varied campaign that camp Obama is running instead of listening to people they learned not to trust long ago.

Anyway, here's the video...
