PTSD is not going away, folks.

When a former Marine kills a 16 year old cheerleader while driving drunk in an effort to "medicate" his PTSD as the NYTimes reports, more steps need to be taken to reach these veterans who are too strict with themselve to admit something is wrong.  I get that... as I've seen it in my brother and his reluctance to deal with his own PTSD.  Marines are tough birds and don't admit being hurt or that something is wrong until they are ulitmately forced to by either people who love them or by law enforcement when they makes mistakes as detailed in the story above.  There are treatments that work but drinking yourself into a tizzy so you can sleep isn't one of them.  Our veterans need help in this regard and I'm afraid that not enough is being done to help them.  At least an article like the one above from a main stream media organization is a step in the right direction... we just need to keep taking those steps.
