McCain and his campaign are afraid, very afraid
For McCain to say that he knows how to catch Bin Laden as he declared to Wolf Blitzer on CNN and as reported by Sam Stein at Huffpost, has the feel of fear in it based on where he is in this campaign right now. Just a side note, if he "knows how to catch Bin Laden", why doesn't he share his infinite wisdom with the rest of us (or at least Bush 2.0) so we actually CAN capture him... I have a feeling you'll have to vote for him before he gives up such goods as that.
Lastly, given the above combined with McCain's new ad attacking Obama below, they know that they are slipping further and further out of the picture even before the conventions... thus this hard hitting ad which again, smells of fear. FYI, 1. Obama never held a hearing on Afghanistan because Joe Biden asked him not to so they could hold hearings at the full committee level instead and 2. Obama canceled visiting the troops in Germany because the Pentagon asked him not to seeing as he was on a campaign financed trip, not because, as the ad states, that he couldn't bring cameras with him.
