Wal-Mart lobbying against Obama?
What is up with this?... Wal-Mart is afraid of an Obama administration because they think he will allow their worked to unionize. I've been sticking up for Wal-Mart of late as they worked through their health insurance issues with a woman and her family who deserved it and they've been working to get health insurance for all their workers but this is a pretty tough stance to take. FYI Wal-Mart, if Obama gets elected, universal health care might relieve that major expense for you, saving you money... McCain?... not so much.
UPDATE: Based on a conversation with a contact of mine at Wal-Mart, they say this report is "total crap" and that Wal-Mart is neutral in the Presidential election. They do say, however, that they did send a letter to all managers that was information regarding a "card check bill" that would remove the secret ballots when voting to form a union and make those votes open and not secret... which invites intimidation into the process. I believe that these kinds of votes SHOULD be secret and thus intimidation wouldn't work. We'll keep an eye on this...
UPDATE II: The Wall Street Journal's piece on this takes a look at both side of this story with the Wal-Mart spokesman disavowing anyone who told Wal-Mart workers how to vote.
