Bush 2.0 and McCain's ironic statements on the Russia/Georgia conflict
I've been collecting a few of the statements that strike me a ironic coming from Bush 2.0 and McCain about the Russia/Georgia conflict... here we go:
"In the 21st century, nations don't invade other nations." - John McCain; 8/13/08
"For anyone who thought that stark international aggression was a thing of the past, the last week must have come as a startling wake-up call." - John McCain; 8/14/08
"My friends, we have reached a crisis, the first probably serious crisis internationally since the end of the Cold War." - John McCain; 8/14/08
And saving the best for last...
"Bullying and intimidation are not acceptable ways to conduct foreign policy in the 21st century." - Bush 2.0; 8/15/08
You can't make this stuff up... do either of these guys and their speech writers understand and recognize the irony jumping out of these statements? Such thinking must be above their pay grade.
