McCain of 2008 differs from McCain of 2000 (and even 2007) on abortion

ABC News has done some interesting reporting about how back in 2000, in the Republican primary, McCain confronted then Governor Bush (VIDEO of the exchange is here) with the Republican party's platform on abortion in how it doesn't account for rape, incest or danger to the health of the mother but now, 2008, McCain isn't pushing the Republican party to make that change to the platform that he is going to be running on this fall.
McCain reiterated his desire to change the Republican platform on abortion in April of 2007 as well... my how times have changed. It's really sad to see how McCain has to flip flop on his principles to make a run for President under the Republican banner. For someone who admired and pushed for his stand on the issue back in 2000, I'm disheartened to see how far the man has fallen.
