McCain's secret weapon: Steve "the Bullet" Schmidt

Wanna know the reason for McCain's bounce up in the polls in the last month and a half?... his name is Steve Schmidt and he's a pro. The Washington Post profiles him in today's edition and you can get a really good idea of the kind of operation that he runs through the article. Everything that the McCain camp was lacking, Schmidt brought into clear focus and made the campaign follow suit.
I met Steve many, many years ago and recognized his talent in the political arena from day one. He rescued Schwarzenegger's re-election, is a protogege of Karl Rove although he hates the comparison since he views himself as a "raging moderate" and promises that this is his last election (yeah, right). So for all of you Dems out there who are getting nervous about Obama's chances in the fall, thank Steve Schmidt.
