Traumatic brain injure and PTSD often go hand in hand
Long time readers know that Veteran's health care is a top concern and priority for me as my brother has had to fight and deal with PTSD since his return from Iraq.
The NYTimes reported yesterday on how traumatic brain injuries and PTSD go hand and hand as PTSD can be brought on by a concussion while the symptoms of PTSD might mask a concussion. Needless to say, the number of traumatic brain injuries is a mystery due to inadequit screening and the doctors quoted in the article believe that this could be another ticking time bomb that we won't know the full extent of for years to come.
