McCain picks Gov. Sarah Palin as his VP running mate

This is very interesting pick for team McCain. Kinda outta left right field that is keeping the pundits on their toes. This pick is a double edged sword... it's great for women and takes some of the "barrier breaking" attribute that Obama owns away from him. It's not so great given that she has only been governor for less than two years and before then only Mayor of a very small town in Alaska (1/27th of the population of Senator Obama's district while he was a state Senator in Illinois for eight years; Thanks for the numbers Josh). She is also currently dealing with a scandal surrounding her using her office and position as Governor to try and get her ex-brother-in-law fired as a state trooper. Hmmm, politicians using their power to hire and fire people for personal/political/ideological reasons... sound familiar?
