McCain chief strategist Steve "the bullet" Schmidt feels that the media is being too hard on Sarah Palin. I have a little news for you Stevie, the media is scrutinizing Palin so much because she came from WAY OUT OF RIGHT FIELD! Everyone was caught off-guard. You and your campaign didn't "soften the ground" with her as a potential pick so when you finally announced it, of course every reporter, news organization and blogger on the left and the right was going to dig into her to see what she's all about. If you had "softened the ground" beforehand, the reporters, bloggers and their organizations would have had time to digest "trooper gate" and her policy positions instead of getting the deluge of media scrutiny that you are now decrying. And THEN your campaign drops the bomb that her 17 year old daughter is pregnant. What do you expect? This "problem" that you are speaking out against is of your own making for not following political strategy 101 by not "softening the ground"... live with it.
