Afghanistan: for the Republicans, a truly forgotten war

As Ben Smith of the Politico.com notes, by a tip from a reader, that the war in Afghanistan hasn't been mentioned once during the first two night of the Republican convention with all those speakers... Bush 2.0, Lieberman, Thompson, Romney, Huckabee, Rudy, Palin... not one mention. I guess they don't want to draw attention to the fact that Obama has been calling for more troops for that conflict for over the last year and that finally the Pentagon and Bush 2.0 agree with him... it took McCain a wee bit longer to come around to the idea of a few more brigades for Afghanistan.
