Steve "the bullet" Schmidt: "Cindy, please leave the bling at home!"
Vanity Fair does some political reporting by tallying up (in a range) the cost of both Laura Bush's and Cindy McCain's outfits in the below pic on the opening night of the Republican convention:
L. Bush: $3,425 - $4,325
C. McCain: $299,100 - $313,100
Obviously the jewelry put Cindy over the top but don't you think it would have been a better move from a political strategy standpoint to leave the bling at home given that your husband and his campaign are trying to paint Obama as an out of touch elitist? By the way, if Obama and his wife Michelle had just one of those earrings, they could have paid off their college loans a few years earlier... I'm just saying.
