The latest McCain volley in the debate about education that Obama kicked off, is the McCain camp saying that Obama wants to teach kindergartners sex ed. This is an utterly ridiculous and an offensive accusation... to make that statement, McCain points to Obama's support of teaching "age appropriate" sex education. What that means is that if you're with a group of kindergartners, you want them to know that it is wrong for adults to touch their private parts; if you're with a group of Freshman in high school, you want to teach them about STDs and proper use of contraception. This is what the strategists do (believe me, I know cause I used to do it)... they take something good about a candidate and turn it into something horrific. This article from Sam Stein and Nico Pitney of Huffpost also points out that the quotes from the articles the ad references against Obama are taken out of context and that those same articles are harder on McCain's positions than Obama's.
