Go figure... DOD wasn't prepared for the Iraq war

Word out today that the threat that IEDs (improvised explosive devices) posed in Iraq was known by the DOD (Department of Defense) BEFORE the invasion... in fact, years before.  From not enough troops to not enough body armor for those troops and now, avoiding preparations of a known threat to our troops, pre-war planning was criminal in it's lack of effort or foresight.

I'm sure we're going to be hearing more about these types of "mistakes made" by DOD but that doesn't make it any easier when you read an article like the one linked to above in USA Today.  And one wonders why so many of our troops are coming home with PTSD.
